The IFS-3000 series sensor (pictured left) is a hardened sensor that is built to withstand the harshest of environments and has been used for tornado, hurricane and volcano research activities. The IFS-4000 series sensor has similar applications as the 3000 series sensor, but is an OEM version that is intended to be mounted in the same enclosure as its associated data collection unit. The new 5000 series sensor is seismically decoupled, and is capable of detecting only the acoustic energy in an infrasound signal while rejecting most of the seismic energy, or vice-versa.
