1 USB ports not working - Code 39 error Hi! The USB ports (3) on Acer Aspire 5942 G have stopped working. This 5942 G is a dual boot computer with Windows 7 / Ubuntu 12.04. The USB ports are working fine in Ubuntu 12.04 - so, it is not a hardware problem. I used the touchpad, instead of the USB mouse, in Windows 7 until now - I need to sync my i Phone - and hence need access to the USB ports. Looking into the problem in the device manager I can see a on the USB Controller - Intel( R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3 B34 and Intel( R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3 B3 C. I uninstalled the device drivers for both the above problems, re-started the machine and expected the drivers to be installed automatically. Still same problem.
