Xp intel sata driver key

System Requirements: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows 8.1

Introduction Suppose you have a new computer running Windows Vista and, like many, want to use Boot It Next Generation ( BING) to dual-boot Windows XP and Windows Vista.  While this is easily done using BING by following the video tutorial on how to install Windows XP to its own partition, one problem remains:  The default Windows XP installation disc doesn't support your new SATA storage devices. This tutorial will take you through the process of using a third-party utility named n Lite to create a new Windows XP installation disc that contains the SATA drivers and latest service pack needed for Windows XP setup to properly identify your hard drives.  This process is called slipstreaming. Most new HP and Dell systems make use of an Intel SATA chipset.  As a result, this tutorial uses the Intel SATA drivers as an example. Overview In essence, the slipstreaming process detailed below will involve: Downloading and installing the n Lite software utility Downloading and extracting the 32-bit SATA drivers from the Intel web site Downloading the latest Windows XP service pack Running n Lite to create a new, slipstreamed 32-bit Windows XP installation disc Download and Install Visit the Intel website and download the Intel Rapid Storage Technology F6 Driver Diskette version to a folder on your system. Essentially the version that gives you the individual.inf.cat.sys files instead of an installer. Download the n Lite installer to a folder on your system.  Here I've downloaded both the driver and n Lite installer to the same folder on my desktop: Double click on the Intel drivers you downloaded (f6flpy32_85 in this example) and choose to extract all files.  Leave the default destination folder and click extract. Go back to the folder containing the n Lite installer and double click it to start the setup wizard.  You can complete the installation using the defaults by following the setup.

1. Intended audience This article is for users who want to switch SATA controller from IDE-compatible mode (aka ATA-compatible mode) to AHCI mode without reinstalling Windows XP. Primary motivation for such a switch is to gain additional performance from disk I/ O ( SATA NCQ especially for SSD hardware. Also recommendations from this article are useful in dual-boot configurations, where other OS must use SATA controller in AHCI mode, and Windows XP as a first OS is using SATA controller in IDE mode. 2. Check prerequisites Make sure your operating system is Windows XP. If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, then read this article. Reboot your PC, enter BIOS setup (press DEL or F1) and make sure that currently SATA controller is configured in IDE mode; and support of AHCI mode exists in BIOS. 3. Find or download F6 textmode AHCI driver for your SATA controller Find out the name of your chipset (south bridge). It should be in the user guide of your motherboard or notebook, or at the manufacturer's website. Also one can try to find the SATA controller in the Windows Device Manager under IDE ATA/ ATAPI controllers or Storage controllers. Check your motherboard/notebook driver CD, try to find F6 textmode AHCI driver for your chipset (southbridge). F6 textmode AHCI driver consists of TXTSETUP. OEM, one or several INF files(s SYS file(s) and CAT file(s). SYS file is a driver itself, CAT file is a catalog of digital signatures to verify integrity of the driver, and INF is an informational file for Windows operating system how to detect hardware, and how to install/uninstall the driver. For example, Intel AHCI driver for ICH10 R chipset consists of iaahci.cat, ia AHCI.inf, iastor.cat, ia Stor.inf, Ia Stor.sys, and TXTSETUP. OEM. If you could not find F6 textmode AHCI driver on the CD, check manufacturer's website of the motherboard/notebook, and also check manufacturer's website of.
Installing the Windows OS and Drivers The Sun Ultra 24 Workstation is WHQL certified to run the following Windows operating systems: Windows XP SP2, 32-bit and 64-bit ( WHQL certified) Windows 2003 Enterprise Server R2 SP2 32 and 64-bit ( WHQL certified) Windows Vista Ultimate 32 and 64-bit ( WHQL certified) You have several options for installing Windows: Install Windows using a Windows CD, and manually load drivers during and after the OS installation. Use the 2003 Reburn and Xp Reburn scripts to create a Windows CD that includes the platform and Intel SATA and RAID drivers, then use the newly created CD to install the OS. ( You must install video and audio drivers separately.) Create a RIS image of the Windows OS and drivers, then install the OS from a RIS server. Note - For instructions to create a RIS image of the Windows OS, see the Readme file on the Tools and Drivers DVD. The order of Windows XP OS and driver installation is as follows: 1. If necessary, set the BIOS for Window. See Section 4.1, Setting the BIOS for the Windows OS. 2. If required, remove the preinstalled Solaris OS. See Section 4.2, Understanding the Diagnostic Partition and Section 4.3, Erasing Partitions on the Boot Hard Disk Drive. 3. Install the OS using one of the following sections. Note - Do not delete the diagnostic partition when you perform the OS installation. If the diagnostic partition is erased, the Sun Ultra 24 Workstation Service Manual provides instructions for using the Create Diagnostic Partition option on the Sun Ultra 24 Workstation Tools and Drivers DVD. Note - Windows XP cannot mount the diagnostic partition. A workaround is detailed in the Sun Ultra 24 Workstation Service Manual. This section describes how to set the system BIOS and Intel Matrix Storage Manager option ROM for the Windows OS and Intel SATA and RAID. To configure the system BIOS for a Windows OS and.
